Masonic teaching and tradition encourage Brothers to go the extra mile to learn about the history, meanings and rituals of Freemasonry.  Active learning and participation in the conferral of degrees and other lodge business are critical in getting the most from membership.

Equity Lodge provides many opportunities for new and existing members to expand their Masonic knowledge.  An instruction meeting is held at the Masonic Temple at 1 North Broad Street in Philadelphia on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Existing members are also available and anxious to mentor Brothers who seek to learn ritual in order to participate in degree work or serve as an officer of the lodge. Prospective members are also welcome to Equity instruction meetings to  have questions answered and to meet Lodge members.

Masonic instruction is also available through Lodges of Instruction at the Temple and at lodges in Tacony, PA and Jenkintown, PA.
